I was quite taken by a point raised by my colleague at RISD, Beth Garvin, on how the earthquake magnitude in Haiti was lower than the recent one in San Francisco. But due to the superior building infrastructure in SF, *many* fewer lost their lives as compared with Haiti. Aaron Perry-Zucker is in the background of this image via Skype.
